Vasco police have registered a case of forgery and cheating against a Danish national. The case was registered following a complaint by Dabolim airport’s immigration police inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai.
Around 1pm on Sunday, immigration officials at the airport on checking Ruizgold’s passport found it to be a fake. The matter was reported to their in charge, who in turn informed Vasco police about the matter.
Vasco PSI Vaibhav Naiksaid, “We received a complaint that 25-year-old Jorge Ruizgold was trying to board a charter flight to London.”
Naik said that Ruizgold had come to Goa sometime in early February, but did not have more details. He added that no information was available on the passport, for the cops to know from where Ruizgold had flown to Goa.
As Ruizgold does not speak English, Vasco police have asked the Danish Embassy for help. “The interpreter will be sent on Monday, once he comes things will be clear,” Naik said.
Ruizgold will be produced before the JMFC on Monday. Vasco police have registered a case under Sections 419, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code.
