New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced that the Delhi government will provide free COVID-19 vaccine to everyone above 18 years of age in the National Capital.
“The Delhi government has decided that free vaccine (COVID-19 vaccine) will be provided for people above 18 years of age,’ Mr Kejriwal said while addressing a digital press conference.
He further informed that the city government has given the approval for the purchase of 1.34 crore vaccines.
Mr Kejriwal said the city government will make an effort to ensure that the vaccines are purchased soon and administered at the earliest to people.
‘COVID-19 vaccines should have the same price,’ the Chief Minister said.
Saying that ‘this time is not to earn profit but to help’, Mr Kejriwal appealed to the vaccine manufacturers to bring down the price of vaccine to Rs 150 per dose.
He also appealed to the Centre to cap the price of vaccines.
