Department of Posts proposes to start doorstep banking services


Panaji, Mar 31 (GCCurrentAffairs) Department of Posts, Goa, has proposed to start Aadhar Enabled Payment System (Doorstep banking services) to Senior Citizens during the 21 days lockdown period.

According to a statement, this facility will be made available to senior citizens residing in the Panaji and Mapusa.
” Under this service, an amount upto Rs 10,000 can be withdrawn by account holders of any Scheduled/Nationalized bank at their doorstep through India Post Payments Bank AePS Service. The needy customer can inform the details like address, contact number and amount required to contact 1800 313 6633 (Toll free) and 8825547139, 7338975549 on these telephone numbers between 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM during working days. Aadhar number would be kept ready by Senior Citizens during the transaction,” the statement said.

The departmental personnel would adhere to all safety instructions and follow social distancing norms prescribed for COVID-19 during the transaction, it added.
