Deshprabhu gets anticipatory bail

Congress spokesperson and alleged illegal mining accused Jitendra Deshprabhu has been granted anticipatory bail by the North Goa Session court. It may be recalled that the government in its action plan against the alleged illegal mining perpetrators filed an FIR against Deshprabhu and other officials of the Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG) for cheating the exchequer of Rs 50 crore through illegal mining.

Speaking to GoaChronicle.com, Deshprabhu stated that he always had faith in the judiciary in my state and country. And I have no doubt that Manohar Parrikar stands exposed for all the political victimization that he as meted out to his political opponents, particularly myself for exposing his wrong doings and lies, which I have been expressing through media on various occasions. Regretfully, the enforcing authorities have also succumbed to his bullying them to fan his ego and further his machinations to undermine the honor and social status of law abiding citizens in the state.

He further added that his direction to the enforcing authorities to re-register criminal cases was Parrikar’s way diverting the attention of the people of this state on his wrong doings highlighted in the Shah Commission report which he can rest assured that criminal charges will be pressed against him very shortly, he being the chief perpetrator of the illegalities in the mining business.
