Dhanteras, which is the beginning of the Diwali festival, saw a huge sale of automobiles and jewellery in Goa this year.
Two weeks prior to Diwali festival, automobile dealers in Goa observed an increased demand for their cars. Volkswagen Goa General Manager Manguesh Dalvi said that sales during this period have gone up to 90 vehicles with a waiting list of more than 20 cars. The fastest moving was the Polo, followed by Jetta and the Volkswagen Beetle.
Skoda Auto Goa dealers General Manager Welch Colaco informed that Skoda Fabia has a waiting list of 30 bookings, with a sale of an average of six cars a month. He said Skoda Auto India plans to launch the Yeti sport-utility vehicle in a month and a new sedan next year.
Caculo Ford General Manager Harish Borkar said that the Ford Figo has been moving really fast with sales of over 500 cars in the past six months. He also said that with a value for money product, it also gives excellent mileage and prices 4.99 lakhs for the petrol model and 5.90 lakhs for the diesel one.
