Governor of Goa Dr. S S Sidhu described Chief Minister Digambar Kamat as a dynamic person and PWD Minister Churchill Alemao as a popular leader. He was speaking at a function organized by Dalit Seva Sanghatana, Goa to felicitate the duo at Ravindra Bhavan on Sunday.
Dr. Sidhu particularly appreciated the Chief Minister’s ability to accept criticism of policies and programmes and accordingly take corrective measures. “This quality enhances the public prestige of the leader,” he said.
He said that there was no doubt that Churchill Alemao was a popular leader and a friend of the common man who has always been at the forefront of public causes. Besides, he also highlighted Churchill’s contribution to sports and particularly to football.
Chief Minister while replying to the felicitation assured that no injustice will be meted out to the Dhangar community that is still awaiting recognition as a Scheduled Tribe of Goa and revealed that he had taken up this matter with the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.
