Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Subhash Shirodkar and PWD Minister Churchill Alemao rushed to Delhi following summons from the party High Command to reportedly discuss party matters including the Nationalist Congress Party’s demand to induct Micky Pacheco in the State cabinet.
However, Digambar Kamat sought to play down the political angle by stating that he was going to the national capital to attend the annual meeting convened by Union Finance Minister to discuss the budget.
On the other hand Subhash Shirodkar was candid to admit that he was summoned by the High Command to discuss the NCP’s demand and other party matters including the appointment of GPCC President.
The GPCC president’s post has suddenly become quite coveted as the assembly elections are fast approaching and Member of Parliament Francisco Sardinha has staked a claim for it.
However, the reason why Churchill has been summoned is not known except that he is the leader of the Congress MLAs opposing Micky’s induction in the cabinet.
