Disgruntled Congress MLA Umesh Jadav joins BJP

Kalaburagi, Mar 6 (GCCurrentAffairs) Distruntled Congress MLA Umesh Jadav who quit the party and his membership as Chincholi MLA today joined Bharatiya Janata Party, even as his resignation to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly is yet to be accepted by Speaker Ramesh Kumar.
Mr Jadav, expressing his displeasure over Congress-JDS government allegedly neglecting his Assembly constituency and development works were not taken up, submitted his resignation to Mr Ramesh Kumar at his residence at Srinivaspura in Kolar District recently.
Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa, who is also BJP State President, welcomed Mr Jadhav into the party fold by handing over the party flag.
Mr Ramesh Kumar is in consultation with legal experts on the resignation as the Congress has filed a petition to disqualify him as he failed to honour the Whip given by the party to attend CLP meeting as well as Budget Session.
Meanwhile, in the State Capital Bengaluru yesterday held meeting with other disgruntled Congress MLAs including former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, Mahesh Kumathalli and Nagendra in an attempt to pacify them and not to take any hasty decision.
On Wednesday morning Mr Jadhav met Mr Yeddyurappa in the IB here and told reporters that he had decided to join BJP. ‘’I have submitted my resignation as MLA to Assembly speaker Mr Ramesh Kumar and has also quit Congress party. Very shortly 10 to 12 Congress MLAs will be quitting their seats and join the BJP,’’ he claimed.
