Vasco, December 16 (GCCurrentAffairs): Congress party has demanded that President of India Ram Nath Kovind should dismiss State Governor Mridula Sinha for being silent spectator to the mess in the State.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar alleged that Governor has failed to perform her Constitutional obligations.
Chodankar was addressing party’s Jan Akrosh Rally at Vasco town this evening.
“Governor has become liability to the people of goa because she has failed to perform her constitutional obligations,” he said raising the demand for her dismissal by President of India.
“We demand that she should be dismissed by President of India for her dismal performance and inability to intervene when State is going through constitutional crisis due to ailing Chief Minister,” he said.
CM Manohar Parrikar is currently recuperating at his private residence near here since October 14 after his discharge from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
Congress has petitioned thrice to the Governor staking claim to form the Government. The party has begun Jan Akrosh Rally to demand restoration of Governance.
“Government has been silent spectator for last eleven months to the happenings in Goa and she is enjoying the salary and facilities from Goa government,” Chodankar said in presence of former Chief Minister Ravi Naik and other party leaders at Vasco.
“Governor has failed to work for Goa. She is acting like a BJP worker,” he alleged.
The Congress leader also accused other ministers in Parrikar-led cabinet of being ‘inefficient’. “These ministers listen to the dictate of Parrikar’s Personal Assistants and Personal Secretaries,” he said.
Chodankar claimed that when their (ministers’) file does not move, they issue statement of collapse of administration, but suddenly withdraw their anger when their work is done.
He said that the government departments have become hub of corruption leading to harassment to the common people.
