New Delhi, Nov 9 (GCCurrentAffairs) In a path-breaking judgement in the Ram janambhoomi Babri Masjid case, the Supreme court on Saturday said the disputed land in Ayodhya will be given to a government-run trust for the building of a temple while an alternative plot will be given to the Sunni Waqf Board for a mosque.

In a unanimous verdict, a five-judge Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that a trust or board run by the central government will formulate a scheme for the construction and management of a temple.

The judges said a trust should be formed within three months for the construction of the temple.

They said that the mosque should be constructed at a “prominent site” .
