Don’t venture into the seas: Goa Tourism to tourists

Panjim, Oct 12 (GCNews) The Goa Tourism Department has advised tourists not to venture into the sea till October 14 in view of rise in sea water levels on beaches in the state on account of cyclone ‘Titli’ and lunar influences.

A statement issued by the Department here said, “The Goan Coastline has witnessed sudden rise in the level of sea water since last few days. The sea water may rise still further.In view of the situation prevailing at the coastline tourists are advised not to venture into the sea water till October 14, 2018.Tourists are advised to take maximum utmost care and precaution while at the beaches and also pay heed to the instructions of lifeguards deputed on the beaches.”

Department of Tourism had issued provisional NOCs (No Objection Certificates) to shacks allottees at various beaches of North and South Goa to erect shacks for catering to the tourists as per Tourism Shack Policy 2016-19 for the Tourist Season 2018-19, it said and advised all the shack allottees to check sea water condition and rise in the water level and take appropriate precautions for the safety and security of the tourists and property of shacks.
