Goa Police in South Goa yesterday late-night arrested a man on charge of firing a gun in the open at a bar and restaurant in popular beach village of Colva.
According to police, the accused identified as one Mubarak Khan, native of Vasco in South Goa District, fired the bullet in an inebriated condition when he was allegedly denied more rounds of drink by the management of the bar.
Speaking to reporters, Colva Police Station In-charge Police Inspector Filomena D’Costa said,”We received a complaint from Felix Fernandes, manager of 49rs bar and restaurant that accused person Mubarak Khan had fired a gunshot at the restaurant and threatened security personnel and hotel staff. The accused has been arrested.”
However, the weapon used in the incident was yet to be traced, he added.
