The government has agreed to hand over the David Driham alias Dudu case to Central Bureau of Investiations (CBI)within seven days disclosed Advocate General Subodh Kantak in the Bombay High Court at Goa on Thursday.
The assurance was given when the petition filed by National Students Union of India (NSUI) demanding that the case be handed over to CBI since the investigating officer of Goa Police was himself under suspicion came up for hearing.
As the Advocate General sought time to issue the necessary notification, the case was adjourned to 4th May.
This is the third drug related case that will be handed over to the CBI for investigation. Earlier the drug dealer-police nexus case and Sunil Gudlar cases were handed over to the CBI.
