New Delhi, Sep 24 (GCCurrentAffairs) The Election Commission on Tuesday announced that by-election to Maharashtra’s Satara Lok Sabha constituency will take place on October 21.
The EC in a statement said one vacancy in the Satara Parliamentary Constituency of Maharashtra needs to be filled up.
Voting will take place along with the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election.
The bypoll was necessitated after Member of Parliament from the Nationalist Congress Party, Udayanraje Bhosale, recently joined the BJP after resigning from Lok Sabha.
The last date for filing nominations will be October 4, the scrutiny of nomination papers on October 5 and by October 7, candidates will be able to withdraw their nominations.
Counting will be held on October 24.
The election process will be completed by October 27.
