ED issues notice to Bineesh, seeks details of his assets

Kochi: Enforcement Directorate has issued a notice to Bineesh Kodiyeri, son of CPI-M Kerala Unit Secretary, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, and State Registration Department, seeking details of his assets.
ED has also asked both the parties not to transfer or sell any assets owned by Bineesh without informing it, sources said on Saturday.
The notice was issued as per the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
ED officials suspect that Bineesh had committed offences as per Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Trouble started for Bineesh when four National agencies started probing the diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case in Thiruvananthapuram and the drug case which was unravelled in Bengaluru by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
ED had interrogated Bineesh on September 9 and released him later.
This was done based on the statement that he is the Director of a visa stamping company which is related to the gold smuggling case and he allegedly received a share of profit
