The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday morning raided the residential and office premises of Shiv Sena leader Pratap Sarnaik.
“The searches are being conducted on the Tops group (a company in the business of providing security) promoters and related people, including some politicians,” an official source said.
The ED also detained Sarnaik’s son Vihang from their residence.
Reacting to the raid, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that these attempts to intimidate Sena workers and MLAs would not work. “Central agencies should not work as a branch of the Centre. They may have started this, but we will be the ones to finish it,” he warned.
Pratap Sarnaik, Shiv Sena MLA from the Ovala-Majiwada constituency in Thane, was in the news earlier after demanding Kangana Ranaut be booked for sedition, comparing Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
