Panaji: EDC Limited Chairman Sadanand Shet Tanavade handed over dividend cheque to Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at EDC House in the city on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said,”Like other Departments of Government Goa, EDC Corporation has always been actively participating in the ‘Swayaampurna Goa’ campaign of the State Government creating awareness of the Chief Minister’s Rojgar Yojana (CMRY) and Goa Tribal’s Employment Generation Programme (GTEGP) scheme across the various panchayats in the state.”
He said under ‘Swayaampurna Goa’ so far EDC has covered 73 panchayats helping the people, who want to generate self employment, start their own businesses. It coordinates with people to make them Swayampurna.
The EDC has declared a dividend of Rs 100.92 lakh to the Government of Goa. Mr Tanavde handed over a dividend cheque of Rs 86.20 lakh to Chief Minister for the financial year 2019-20.
The cheque was handed over to the Chief Minister in the presence of Principal Secretary Finance Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, Board of Directors Sandip Bhandare, Purushottam Raya Pednekar, Managing Director K V Ballikar and other officials of EDC.
Mr Tanavde read out various schemes and activities of the Corporation.
