Eleven Benches of the High Court – two Division Benches, three Single Benches (Civil), three Single Benches (Criminal) and three Original Jurisdiction Benches- will now hold physical court with effect from January 18, 2021.

The other Benches shall continue to take up matters through video conference as per the roster.

All Benches shall continue to take up matters as per the existing arrangement.

Pending routine/non urgent matters listed from January 18 – February 20 have been adjourned en bloc.

The High Court also ordered that lower courts in the city can function physically on every alternate day with effect from January 18.

“The Principal District & Sessions Judges and Principal Judge, Family Court (HQ) shall prepare roster of all the subordinate courts of their respective Districts in such a manner that such courts sit physically on alternate day basis and continue to take up matters through ‘video conferencing’ on non-physical days,” a notice issued by the High Court said.
