Kolkata: The All India Trinamool Congress has announced that two eminent film personalities Koushani Mukherjee and Piya Sengupta joined the party in the presence of Bratya Basu, Minister, at Trinamool Bhavan today.
Koushani Mukherjee is a popular Bengali actor, debuted in the movie Parbona Ami Chartey Tokey in 2015.
“Many young women like me have seen the work done by Mamata Banerjee. Mamata Banerjee has always stayed by our side and we will always support her. I am here to work and not speak,” Koushani said.
Piya Sengupta is an Indian film actress, producer, director and writer. She made her acting debut with Dadamoni, directed by Sukhen Das. Her father was a famous actor/director late Sukhen Das.
“I am inspired by the work done by Mamata Banerjee. Seeing her work for development in the State I decided to work as one of her foot soldiers,” Piya Sengupta said while interacting with the media.
