The State Ex-Cadets NCC Association (SENA) organized a rally to observe the International Day of Peace also known as World Peace Day on 21st September commencing from the ‘Divja’ junction at Panjim.
Executive Director of Sports Authority of Goa V M Prabhudessai who flagged off the rally observed that the world is increasingly getting aggressive. Despite millennia of religion, civilization and culture, peace among people and nations remains elusive. But for the future of humanity, peace deserves a chance. With the soaring incidents of violence and terrorist activities, the day has its own significance in current scenario.
President of SENA, Adv. Avinash Bhosle stressed the need to strongly condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, committed by whomever, wherever and for whatever purposes, as it constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security
The cycle rally went up the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Old Goa and after offering tributes to the modern day apostle of peace, they returned to Panjim.
