Lucknow, Oct 21 (GCCurrentAffairs) Even as the by-elections continue peacefully on 11 Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, a fake polling agent has been taken into custody in Rampur on Monday.
According to official sources, the polling agent was taken into custody from a polling center at Raza Degree College after he could not furnish an appropriate identity card.
On the other hand, policemen drove away some untoward elements who were trying to tamper with polling procedure at the Babanpuri polling center.
Rampur District Magistrate Aunjaneya Kumar Singh said that two suspects were held near the polling center and they are being questioned.
Police also took seven other people into custody on charges of tampering with the polling procedure in the Shahzadnagar and Civil Lines police station area. They are also currently being interrogated.
