New Delhi: Former IAS officer turned politician Shah Faesal was detained at the Delhi airport on Wednesday and sent back to Kashmir.
The ex-IAS officer, who was reportedly stopped from leaving the country, has now been placed under house arrest in Kashmir.
Faesal has been vocal in his criticism of the government ever since the Centre revoked Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.
On Eid he had tweeted that Kashmiris across the world were mourning the illegal abrogation of their special status.
Faesel has been critical of the Narendra Modi-led government and has been active is creating a communal fear psychosis amongst Muslims in the country through his social media messages.
In fact In a brief statement on Facebook when he resigned from his civil service duties and took up politics, the 35-year-old said his resignation was to protest “the marginalisation and invisiblisation of around 200 million Indian Muslims at the hands of Hindutva forces reducing them to second-class citizens; insidious attacks on the special identity of the state and growing culture of intolerance and hate in mainland India in the name of hyper-nationalism”
