Fette Compacting (part of LMT GmbH & Co. KG, Germany), a manufacturer of tablet presses for pharmaceutical and chemical industries, has launched a Competence Centre in India at Verna Industrial Estate, Goa. The company has invested 600,000 Euros in setting up this centre, which happens to be the fourth of its kind outside Germany.
The centre will be used for basic trials, technical consulting and training, in addition to providing lab facilities. There will be no production in this facility.
The company is a full service system provider of equipment and tools for the production of tablets. All products, from tableting tools and computer-controlled tablet presses to isolators, are developed and produced in-house. A wide spectrum of specially tested peripheral devices rounds out the product line. The headquarters and main production location of Fette Compacting is in Schwarzenbek near Hamburg, Germany.
Fette Compacting Machinery India Private Limited (FCI) has already supplied close to 80 machines to Indian pharma companies such as Cipla, Lupin, Dr.Reddy’s, IPCA, Micro Labs apart from MNCs such as GSK, Ranbaxy, Sanofi Aventis, Ratio Pharma, etc.
The Fette Compacting Lab Facilities are intended to provide a service to both potential and existing customers. Fundamental research, compression trials and sample production could be carried out in the context of ongoing operation. In the Competence Centre in Goa, customers can run trials on the machines under production conditions.
