The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2010 will have more than just movies this year as the Entertainment Society of Goa has tied up with the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) to give a truly different look to it.
ESG and GCCI are planning to replicate the Dubai festival mood in Goa for IFFI this year with not only food courts serving Goan delicacies and jazz artistes, jugglers, caricature artists, fire eaters and acrobats entertaining the crowds, but also the 200 retain establishments will offer stupendous discounts.
The Food and Shopping festival will be held from 22nd November to 2nd December coinciding with the IFFI and these events will be hosted at both Panjim and Margao thereby making the two cities adorn a festive look.
A Grand Shopping Hunt which is nothing but a treasure hunt with over 100 participants is planned to be the highlight of the shopping festival. Besides, there will be contests and games galore every day for children as well as adults.
“This year IFFI synergizes global participation, high profile glamour, world-class entertainment and internationally applauded films. We want to extend that excitement and buzz beyond the theatres to the people of Goa. The shopping and food festival will embody the spirit of IFFI with the perfect mix of fun, entertainment, and great cuisine”, said Manoj Srivastava, Chief Executive Officer, ESG.
