FORCE Reiterates Its Demand For English

Forum for Rights of Children’s’ Education (FORCE) on Wednesday reiterated its demand that parents should be allowed to choose the medium of instruction for their children in aided primary schools from the academic year beginning in June 2011 onwards.
Addressing media persons on Wednesday, FORCE President Cynthia Fernandes repeated that their movement was not against any language nor any community and dismissed those alleging this as mischief mongers seeking to create confusion.

FORCE Secretary Savio Lopes said the parents would co-operate in all possible manner to enable the government to set the infrastructure in place in the shortest time and while pointing out that their deadline expires on 6th June, repeated the threat to intensify the agitation if their demand was not conceded by then.
Both claimed that FORCE represents 130 government aided schools in the State.
