The ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee were immersed in two rivers of Goa on Friday.
While in North Goa the ashes were immersed in river Mandovi near capital city of Panaji, in South Goa the ashes were immersed in river Zuari at Cortalim.
In North Goa the ashes were immersed by Union Minister for AYUSH Shripad Naik in the presence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa unit President Vinay Tendulkar, Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Pramod Sawant, state ministers, BJP MLAs and other party functionaries. In South Goa, the ashes were immersed by State Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho in presence of other party leaders.
Two Kalashes having the ashes were brought in the state on August 22. They toured across 37 constituencies across the state before being immersed in the rivers.
