New Delhi: Visiting French Defence Minister Florence Parley has said that her country supports India’s bid for securing a permanent seat at the Unied Nation’s Security Council (UNSC).
While attending the induction ceremony of the Rafael Aircraft into the Indian Air Force (AIF) in Ambala Airbase on Thursday, Parley was quoted saying “France supports India’s candidacy for (permanent seat) at UNSC.”
During the event Parley also reiterated France’s involvement and support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitous ‘Make in India’ movement. “The Make in India has been a reality for the French industry for several years. Particularly for defence equipment such as submarine. Many French companies and design offices are now established in India and I hope that others will offer their support and services.” She equipped.
The Defence minister was full praises for the Rafael Aircraft, pointing out that the military aircrft was effectively used in Mali to destroy armed terror groups. Parley also highlighted France’s determination to respect the delivery deadline despite of the onging COVID-19 pandemic. She reassured that France will suppy the remaining 31 jets ordered by India as soon as possible.
