The freedom fighters from the State have decided to boycott Goa’s Revolution Day function on 18th June to protest against the government’s decision of recognizing English as the medium of Instruction. The freedom fighters fear that this decision of the government will kill Konkani and Marathi languages in the State.
All Goa Freedom fighters Association (AGFFA) President Naguesh Karmali said that the freedom fighters will not participate in government functions on 18th June at Panjim, Margao and Ponda. He also felt that this decision of the State Government enslave Goans to the colonial heritage.
Instead, the freedom fighters will pay homage to the martyrs after the formal government function gets over.
