Goa Police on Saturday arrested two youth from Madhya Pradesh in connection with alleged gangrape of a 20-year-old woman at Colva beach in South Goa on Friday evening.
Speaking to reporters Superintendent of Police (South Goa) Arvind Gawas said, “We have arrested Sanjiv Dhananjay Pal (23) and Ram Santosh Bhariya (19), both from Indore. We have formed teams to look out for the third accused who is also from the same city. They are tourists who were visiting Goa.”
The victim had on Friday evening lodged a complaint with the Colva Police Station that while she had gone to the beach along with her 22-year-old boyfriend, she was sexually assaulted and filmed by the accused. She said that she was blackmailed against informing the incident to the police.
The medical examination had confirmed that the victim was raped, police said, adding an FIR was filed Sections 376 (Rape) and 394 (Robbery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Colva Police Station.
