GC POLI-TALK: Reginald not appointed to talk on our behalf says Naik

Being at the centre of the allegations of ‘caste-based politics’ leveled on the BJP and Parrikar-led government by CLP spokesperson and Curtorim MLA Alexio Reginald Lourenco, Former Fatorda MLA, Damodar Naik stated that these kind of baseless allegations are not new from the Congress camp.

The MLA is resorting to a publicity stunt in order to get prominence in the eyes of the Congress High Command in hope of probably securing the GPCC President’s post. But since, he has made the allegations of ‘caste-based politics’, let me categorically state that both MP Shripad Naik, myself and people from our community has no grievances with the government, we are a part of this government and we will endeavor to stay clear from any profiling of people on the basis of caste or creed. “This is nothing but a frustrated attempt of the Congress to create a divided in the BJP ranks, but that is not going to happen.”

Commenting on the job allotments, to people from the CMs caste-background, Naik, stated that you have to look at the entire requirement in totality, people have been given positions on account of their qualifications and also their experience not on the basis of their caste. “It appears that the MLA might not have any job at this point of time. So he thought he could be our spokesperon, but, we have not hired him to speak on our behalf. If there are issues in our government, party or people, it is for us to solve.”
