GCA President Lotlikar tells Jakati to retire for objecting to Azhar’s son in Goa Cricket Team

Taking an offence over Shadab Jakati challenge on the appointment of former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin’s son Asaduddin in the Goa cricket team, the President of Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Suraj Lotlikar threatened the player that he would never be a part of any IPL team and should consider retirement.

Confirming the developments to media, Shadad Jakati said,”Suraj Lotlikar told me to consider retirement and told me to make way for junior cricketers. He even went to the extent of telling me that I will never be part of any IPL team this year.”

Jakati was one of the senior players who was dropped from the Goa’s pre-season camp.

Apart from Jakati, the name of Swapnil Asnodkar was also absent from the list, a development which came as a surprise as both the players have been serving to Goa cricket more than a decade successfully. Jakati and Asnodkar both came into limelight after their IPL performances. The former played for CSK while the latter played for Rajasthan Royals.
