Addressing a press conference at BJP state headquarters in the city, Mr Ticlo congratulated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for successfully implementing the free ration scheme in Goa under “Sampurna Aahar, Swastha Pariwar”

He said under the first phase of the Yojana from April 2020 to November 2020, more than 80 crore persons in the country benefited under the free ration scheme of five kg of rice or wheat and one kg of pulses all over the country with a total distribution of 236 lakh metric tone of food grains and five lakh metric tonnes of pulses.

This was distributed through 451 fair price shops with 207 shops in South Goa and 244 in North Goa.

It may be recalled that the free ration is in addition to 35 kg at Rs 3 per kg for Antyoday Anna Yojana ration card holders and 5 kg per person at Rs 3 per kg for priority household card holders.

The committee would work to make all the people aware of the scheme and help government to implement the scheme in Goa. It was further stated that helping the people during the Covid pandemic was a continuous process for BJP party karyakartas.

The BJP during the first Covid wave through a Seva Hi Sanghatan Phase I during March to May 2020, the party karyakartas distributed 1,12,675 food packets, 86956 dry ration to 4,34,780 needy beneficiaries; 3,15,000 masks and sanitizers were distributed all over Goa. As many as 3,645 persons contributed to the PM Cares fund through the efforts of party karyakarta.

During Seva Hi Sanghatan – 2 campaign in May and June 21, 1,77,000 face masks, food and ration packets were distributed to 23500 families, 2820 party karyakartas assisted the Government to carry out vaccination through Tika Utsav Camps.

Party MLAs and karyakartas provided ambulance services to needy patients and helped Covid patients with health kits and oximeters. For the BJP party and karyakartas service to the people during Covid pandemic is a continuous process and it is ongoing.

In Goa, the BJP Government has provided free treatment, testing etc. in Government hospitals and provided reimbursement of expenses for Covid treatment to those who opted for private treatment in private hospitals through DSSY health insurance scheme. The BJP Government through its flagship social security schemes, conceived by late former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar like DSSS, Griha Aadhar and Ladli Laxmi has transferred thousands of crores directly to the bank accounts of Goans since 2012.

Ticlo said a Delhi-based party which cannot give such social security in their own state was trying to lure Goans by offering free electricity and ration now as the elections have come near.

“BJP is confident they will not succeed in their machinations as our party and Governments record on social security in the last 10 years is commendable and this Delhi party cannot think of reaching near to it even in their own State Delhi where they are ruling for the last few years. Intelligent Goans are not going to fall prey to their gimmicks,” he said.
