Panaji: The Goa Assembly witnessed uproar as opposition MLAs rushed to the well of the House objecting over the government’s request to the Speaker to postpone questions on coal block allocation.
MLAs Rohan Khaunte, Jayesh Salgaokar, Vijay Sardesai and Vinod Paleykar had tabled questions on coal block allocation but Industries Minister Vishwajit Rane sought to postpone them.
The opposition benches claimed that the question was postponed earlier as well. Mr Sardesai accused the government of shying away from the questions while Mr Khanute alleged that the government was saving its face from the Rs 1000 crore scam involved in coal block allocation. He also objected to the appointment of the consultant which he claimed had already been blacklisted in view of inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The opposition members rushed to the well of the House which forced Speaker Rajesh Patnkear to adjourn the House till 1 pm.
