Panaji: Tough times inflicted by the Covid-19 pandemic have inspired a Goa-based start-up to foray into the wellness sector with their initiative Ayur Blaze, which offers natural and ayurvedic products.
Founded in 2020 in Goa by Avinash Singh Parmar and Kedar Jirage, Ayur Blaze’s initial range of Ayurvedic and wellness products include ‘Made in Bharat’ immunity boosters, hand sanitizers, shampoos and other products.
The start-up has been incubated at GIM’s Atal Incubation Centre.
Speaking to UNI, Avinash Singh Parmar, Co-Founder, AyurBlaze, said the pandemic inspired him to start a health and wellness venture as an alternative to what he had been doing for decades in hospitality.
“We did a quick turn-around and even though we planned the entire launch virtually during the lockdown, everything progressed smoothly. From product selection to creative designs to pricing and label to branding, everything was done remotely. And today the business is picking up pace and doing well”, he said.
He said, when lockdown came into force, he realised that food and medicine were basic necessities which would be required in any and all situations and based on that he did extensive research in food as well as pharmaceutical products, both allopath as well as ayurveda and eventually ayurveda won.
“We are a new-age advanced ayurvedic pharmaceutical company, founded in Goa. Ayur Blaze has sought to bring authentic healing and chemical free ayurvedic products to the communities we live in based on a traditional holistic approach. Our products are 100 per cent natural and vegetarian. We proudly say that our products are ‘Made in India’, manufactured in a meticulous process with ayurvedic formulations that deliver maximum effect for the mind, body, and emotions. Currently we are offering a range of nine ayurvedic and wellness products and we are highly driven by the motto of reaching 100 products by end of 2025 with market coverage across India and beyond. We are committed to integrate ayurveda into the lives of individuals and to be a preferred provider of natural ayurvedic products through quality, service and timely deliveries”, he said.
When asked how did he view Union Health Ministry’s recently launched Ayush Standard Treatment Protocol and support to the Ayurveda industry, he said, “It’s going to be a game changer for Ayurveda. It will give more credibility to our own ancient ‘science of life’ which dates back to more than 3000 years. It will also give confidence to the consumers. Recently, we visited the Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik who acknowledged our efforts and addressed each of our products for immunity boosting and other health issues.”
On Ayurveda and wellness industry landscape in the state, he said, “It’s expanded in recent times with more people having started using ayurvedic products. It’s going to grow further exponentially. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of Ayurveda stands at 16 per cent pre covid era and I am sure it will increase to a minimum 20 per cent post Covid for the next ten years.”
About the future plans of Ayur Blaze, he said, “We are working towards increasing our products range from the current 8 products to a range of 100 products by the year 2025 with distribution networks in every district of India and beyond its shores. We already have our products currently being sold at Mangalore, Mumbai and few cities of Jharkhand apart from more than 80 pharmacies and few super markets across the state of Goa which happens to be our base.”
