The arrest of Pernem resident Rajesh Vishram Naik by Belgaum Police on Saturday has exposed the connection between criminals of Goa and Belgaum.
When two country-made pistols were seized from Rajesh, he confessed to the Belgaum Police that nexus has been operating from Goa for quite some time now. He revealed that these pistols have been with him for more than six months and he is on a hunt for a customer who would buy them for about 2 lakh each.
Rajesh, a construction worker, confessed that two persons, one of whom is a Bengali construction worker, allegedly provided him with these pistols, the Belgaum Police disclosed saying that Rajesh had provided the Police with other details and phone numbers of the duo.
Vadgaon Rural Police Station Chief Police Inspector Vishwanath Kulkarni said that they will get Rajesh’s custody for further inquiry probably on Tuesday after which they are expected to get to the roots of the nexus.
Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil said that they would be definitely interested in working in co-ordination with the Goa Police to solve this case.
