Trying to pacify a persistent opposition Congress demanding for a replacement to current Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar who has been going in and out of hospitals in India and US due to ill-health, Goa BJP President Vinay Tendulkar has told media that Parrikar will back in Goa from the US by September 8th.
Parrikar flew on the morning of August 30th to the US for treatment to his ailment after having being admitted at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai.
“The Chief Minister will be back in Goa and even attend the party’s national executive meeting in Delhi on September 9th,” Tendulkar stated.
Tendulkar also threw light on the talk of a possible change of leadership in Goa an. He said, “There will be no change in the leadership. Parrikar is fit enough to handle the responsibility, and he has been doing it efficiently.”
Parrikar had flown to the US on August 10 for a follow-up and returned to Goa on August 22, but was admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai the next day.
Yesterday he left for the US again on doctors’ advice.
