Goa British Advisory: CM Assures changes but fails to spell out ‘How’

Merely giving assurance while not spelling ‘how’ the government plans to address the serious issue of UK Travel Advisory to Goa, Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar said that situation of issue of safety and security of tourists would change by the beginning of the tourist season in September this year. “The British High Commission will not have to issue such an advisory by September, ” expressed Parrikar.

He further added that the advisory is issued based on the situation prevalent last year.

Strangely, though while the government plans to set things right on the safety and security front of the British tourists in the month of September, it appears to have neglected the fact tourists both domestic and international frequent Goa throughout the year; and the travel advisory issued by the UK High Commission should be an indicator of serious lapses on our measures of safety and security of tourists.
