The budget session of the Goa Legislative Assembly will commence on 16th March at 11:30 am and continue for two weeks.
After a long break, this year, the government proposes to pass the budget in the two weeks as against the earlier model of only seeking a vote on account for three months.
The budget proposals would then be discussed in detail during the three week monsoon session.
However, the proposal to pass the budget in this session is bound to again raise a hornet’s nest as two weeks will not be sufficient to discuss it properly.
On the other hand, this is also seen as yet another indication that Chief Minister Digambar Kamat is proposing to hold early elections.
