Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday announced action plan to boost tourism in the state under Swamyampurna Goa mission.
In a tweet, the Chief Minister said,’Action plan for tourism under Mission #AatmanirbharBharat #SwayampurnaGoa – A Village Level Action Plan to make Goa self sufficient.’
Under the campaign, the state mulls to take initiatives such as heritage walk, village walk and maintenance of Archaeological sites.
The government is mulling to promote home stay tourism, business to business in hinterland and private forest areas without creating big resort or hotel type structure.
The action plan involves taluka festivals, soft loan for adventure tourism, heritage tourism and salt extraction etc, beautification of caves, lakes, water bodies. The government is also planning to impart training to people in skills for tourism sector.
Tourism sector, one of the main pillars of the state economy, has been badly hit due to COVID 19 pandemic.
