Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday paid tributes to great nationalist Dr T B Cunha on his death anniversary.
In a tweet, he said,’Hy humble tributes to the great nationalist Dr. TB Cunha, well known as the “Father of Goan Nationalism”, on his death anniversary. His role in the liberation movement of Goa is unparalleled.’
Tristão de Bragança Cunha was a prominent nationalist and anti-colonial activist in Goa when Portuguese ruled this part of the country. He is popularly known as the “Father of Goan nationalism”, and was the organiser of the first movement to end Portuguese rule in Goa.
