Goa Youth Congress and Goa Mahila Congress staged a protest against hike in fuel and LPG at Assembly complex at Porvorim near the city on Thursday.
They were demanding immediate role back of fuel and LPG prices. Later, they were detained when they were trying to enter the assembly complex to submit memorandu to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Speaking to reporters outside the assembly complex, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) spokesperson Amarnath Panjikar the Congress leaders wanted to submit memorandum the Chief Minister but they were detained.
Mahila Congress President Pratima Coutinho criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government in the state and termed detention of her and Mahila Congress members a ‘shameful’ act.
