Goa government declared a day’s mourning in the state for Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
Speaking to media persons, chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that the sad demise of Jayalalithaa was a shock to all. “She had been a great and popular leader and I pay homage on behalf of the state and people of Goa. I hope that her soul will rest in peace,” he added
Parsekar also said that during mourning, the flag would be flying at half mast but government activities would continue as usual.
Jayalalithaa died on Monday late night after undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai for 73 days. She was 68.
She was admitted to the hospital on September 22 with complaints of fever and dehydration, and suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening
