In a clear display of no decision making powers without the Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar in the Goa Cabinet of Ministers; the Goa Government on Thursday finally announced Rs five crore as state’s contribution towards flood relief operations in Kerala.
The announcement has come a day after Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s return from the USA where he had gone for a medical check up.
A statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) here,”Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has sanctioned Rs 5 crore as Goa government’s contribution towards Kerala CM’s relief fund for Kerala flood relief operations.”
In addition to the state government’s contribution, all employees of Goa Government and autonomous bodies were also expected to contribute their one day salary towards the flood releif work.
“In addition to the above, all employees of Goa government and autonomous bodies are expected to voluntarily contribute their one day salary towards flood relief work in Kerala. Goa stands in solidarity with the people of Kerala,” the statement added.
