Chief Minister Digambar Kamat said Goa is one of the finest tourist destinations in India and urged more people to visit Goa. He was addressing the gathering at Goa Day celebrations held in Lal Chowk Theatre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on Thursday.
Goa is participating with its pavilion at the 30th India International Trade Fair from 17th November to 27th November being held in New Delhi and has been attracting hordes of visitors.
Kamat said that Goa is all set to celebrate the 50 years of its Liberation on 19th December. Goa has made noteworthy progress since Liberation; he said and was happy to see that Goa pavilion had depicted the progress of Goa’s cultural heritage in a very nice manner.
The Goa Pavillion has recreated the beach front giving visitors a feel of the Goan beaches and this is expected to give a big boost to the tourism industry in Goa. Besides, various other facets of Goan life are depicted at the pavilion.
While the industrial sector showcases Goa as a preferential destination for investment highlighting the infrastructure available, the agriculture section has on display the various local crops including the prized chillies from Canacona.
Tourism is of course getting most attention which is augmented by cultural programmes that include the kunbi dance which has become the signature promotional activity of Goa.
