Delta Corp – the conglomerate behind the Casino Royale initiative in Goa has embarked on its plans to have Goa’s first floating hotel. The 22-suite boutique hotel will be stationed on the Mandovi River is expected to be completed and operational in the coming months.
Confirming the developments, Narinder Punj, managing director, Highstreet Cruises and Entertainment Pvt Ltd – a division of the Delta Corp in Goa, said, “The Casino Royale Floatel has been on the anvil for some time now; we have been waiting to obtaining the vessel and other miscellaneous permissions before proceeding forward. However, we should be able to launch it in the coming months.”
Aimed at catering to growing interest in Casino based tourism in Goa, the floating hotel is expected to be an accommodation haven with its state of the art hospitality facility and services. Currently, with the Delta Corp having acquired 45 per cent of the Advani owned Ramada Hotel and Ramada Caravela – offshore casino boat, the need to provide the guests with accommodation has become imperative, expressed Punj. The floating hotel only adds to our room inventory and its novelty will add to the visitor experience, he further stated.
While the Casinos have been witnessing the wrath of the locals as well as the political circles on issues of moral degradation to the society, it will interesting to see in the days to come, the issues that will arise out of the floating hotel.
Currently the vessel has been docked in South Goa and work within the vessel has commenced.
