Panjim: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday announced rebate of Rs 18.3 crore for all power consumers of the state.
Speaking to reporters, he said the government had decided to give a total rebate of Rs 18.3 crore to Electricity Department consumers.
He said 50 per cent of fixed charges were waived for April and May for all low tension domestic, commercial and other categories while for high tension consumers the difference of the billed maximum demand charges and actual recorded maximum demand charges for April and May 2020 were waived.
The rebate would be adjusted in future bill, he added.
For about two months, the Electricity Department had been receiving complaints from consumers alleging inflated bills.
