Panjim: The Goa government’s appointed Startup Promotion Committee is planning to approve a few more startup incentives for new startup operations in the state.
The Startup Promotion Committee which includes the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte have scheduled a meeting on January 17th to discuss these initiatives.
Among the new startup incentives to be discussed will be the offering of 25 per cent of the staff salary if 60 per cent of the workforce is Goan.
The committee is also expected to ink agreements with Indian blockchain conglomerate Eleven01 and with US-based software company Intuit.
And it is expected to approve of seed funding for three startup ventures in Goa.
With the expected disbursal of incentives, the IT department expects that more startups will come forward. “Once the startup certifications are approved, it will take the total number of certified startups in the state to 55. Also, once the seed funds are disbursed, this will be the first time that Goa’s startups get incentives under any IT policy,” revealed the Startup report of the Goa Government.
