Panjim: One of the main challenges in the country and Goa is to find suitable employment and livelihood for the youth. To address this issue Government of Goa and CII are signing a MoU to part in the Model Career Centre, Goa, to link the youth to employment. This will leverage CII’s industry connect to aggregate jobs and facilitate the placement.
According to statement, CII has established 39 such Model Career Centres (MCC) Pan-India with the Goa MCC being the 40th.
CII MCCs connect with the youth and job seekers, provides Career Counseling & Guidance, undertake Employability and Soft Skills training and facilitates placement. Through the MCCs, CII has been able to make a tremendous impact with Career Counselling to over 4.5 Lac youth and placement to over 1.45 lacs candidates in 5,900 industry employers during the last three years.
The official signing of the MoU will enable impact of over 27,000 youth of the state and provide placement to 7,000 candidates in two years. CII will facilitate employment within the state as well as Pan-India and abroad.
In a short period of two weeks, the CII MCC team has already started working on-ground and have connected with 240 employers; more than 100 candidates have been shortlisted of which 74 candidates are receiving their Offer Letters.
