Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that the state government has decided to increase the fine for not wearing masks at public places to Rs 200 from Rs 100.
In a tweet, the Chief Minister said he had directed the authorities to conduct thermal screening strictly at the airport and railway station entry points to strengthen the fight against COVID 19.
“The Government of Goa has decided to increase the fine to ₹ 200 for not wearing masks at public places. Have also directed the authorities to strictly conduct thermal screening at the Airport & Railway Station entry points to strengthen the fight against #COVID19. #GoaFightsCOVID19,” he tweeted.
46,901 Covid 19 confirmed cases, while 677 lives have been lost due to the coastal state’s infections so far.
