Panjim, Oct 10 (GCNews) The annual general body meeting of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Goa State, under the presidentship of Governor of Goa and the President of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Dr Mridula Sinha, was held at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula, near the city on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor congratulated the Indian Red Cross Society for their immense contribution to the society. Acknowledging that financial constraints were present, the Governor said there was no lack of people wanting to support.
”People are willing to help. We only have to ask for assistance without hesitating. Governor also applauded the number of various programme like blood donation camps carried out by the IRCS. Being an old institution it always inspire, encourage and initiate at all times all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized,” she stated.
She also suggested that as a part of Central Government’s decision to commemorate 150th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Indian Red Cross Society should also organise programme that have themes of teachings and principles of Mahatma Gandhi.
